Fire in the Belly

On 23 March ISCAST Victoria will host a “Fire in the Belly” gathering at Chris White’s place.

Prof. Andrew Bennett of La Trobe Uni. and A/Prof. Chris McNeill of Monash Uni. will each talk briefly on a subject close to their hearts relating to their science and their faith. Andrew has chosen the topic “Landscape ecology and nature conservation: who is my ecological neighbour?” and Chris will tackle "Perfect or Good? God's hand in creation."

The format for the evening will be as follows:

Denis Alexander's 2018 New College Lectures: now online!

Many ISCAST friends will know that we were delighted to share Dr Denis Alexander when New College (UNSW) brought him to Australia to give the 2018 New College Lectures.

We were not able to record any of Denis's ISCAST talks but the New College Lectures, entitled "Genetics, God and the Future of Humanity", are now available for viewing here: https://www.newcollege.unsw.edu.au/sydney/lectures-2018.

Evolving Biology, Evolving Theology

We will consider how life emerged from primordial clay, so that it may observe and now speculate on its role in the universe;

We will look at our understanding of a divine spiritual being, with particular reference to creation.

The speakers: David Tuke, BSc (Hons) Biochemistry and Philosophy
David Sullivan, M. Theol. Studies

There will be a panel to respond to questions following the talk and a light supper afterwards.
