2010-07-06 Science and Theology - the Way Forward in the 21st Century

As a part of the Centenary celebrations of the Melbourne College of Divinity in 2010, eminent Australian scientists and theologians will take part in a forum on science and religion. This forum will be held on Tuesday 6 July, from 10:45am.

The scholars include: Rev’d Merrill Kitchen, Rev’d Dr Stephen Ames, Professor John Pilbrow, Professor Bruce Tonge and Professor Paul Komesaroff.

The areas they will explore are:

  • Theology and the Natural Sciences - A Presumptuous Conjunction
  • An Open Universe - Insights from Physics to Biology
  • "Suffer the Little Children" - Why a Caring Focus on Children Must be an Essential Aspect of Christian Life
  • Communication Across Difference - Reconciling Cultures, Values and Beliefs
