I do enjoy Ian's reviews.  You certainly know where he stands on an issue.  I am almost tempted to buy the book to see if it is as bad as Ian says.

However, I do share Ian's concerns.  We have to move away from expressing concern and adopting populist positions, and start to explore the tough stuff that will actually make a difference.  Unfortunately so much of what we are asked to do takes us in the other direction.

I have briefly looked at the other book that was released recently (see here).  It strikes me that we should be pusuing analyses of this depth and sensitivity in areas other than just homosexuality.
