A one-day seminar is to be held in Bathurst to provide a frank assessment of the various creation stories and beliefs that are held by a range of Christians from various traditions. We are seeking to provide a safe space to allow Christians to assess these often conflicting and controversial beliefs and how they square with Scripture.

Program:

• 1030 -1100: Registration, coffee and tea
• 1100 -1200: An over view of the conflict between Christian belief and science re the origin of the universe and the earth, the origin of species, creation and time.
• 1100 – 1200: The creation story, the age of the universe and the earth, as understood by contemporary science.
• 1200 – 1300: Differing belief systems – Creation Science, Intelligent Design and Theistic Evolution – What is the Truth?
• 1300 – 1330: Lunch
• 1330 – 1430: Charles Darwin, the contemporary evolutionary story and Christian belief
• 1430 – 1530: Science and the evolution of humans – what it means to be made in God’s Image.
• 1530 – 1600: Afternoon tea
• 1600 – 1630: Chance, God, evolution and Providence
• 1630 – 1730: Is evolution compatible with the story of Adam and Eve and Genesis?
• 1730 – 1800: Questions and answers
