Dating New Testament Documents
Peter Eyland, 23 May 2011

Peter Eyland, a former lecturer in the School of Physics at UNSW, with an MA in Ancient History from Macquarie University, presented a lecture on "Dating New Testament Documents" in the School of Physics, at the University of NSW on 23rd May 2011.

Abstract: Dating NT documents has been a controversial matter at times, with some giving very late dates and others very early dates. In this talk various factors such as their physical, written and textual properties are discussed. This will include the materials, the ink, multi-spectral imaging and carbon dating. It also includes construction and provenance, calendric complexity, writing styles and transmission of various text types and versions.
